Our blog will provide you with tips and advice that will help you narrow down your long list of options and find the one home on the market that will meet your needs exactly.

2 Tips To Help You Clean Your Carpets This Spring

As you make your spring cleaning list, don't forget to add your carpets to your list. Here are a few tips and tricks that will help you get your carpets extra clean this spring.

#1 How To Remove Hair

Do you have indoor pets? Does anyone in your house have long hair? If you answer yes to either of the two previous questions, you probably frequently encounter hair on your carpet. When you have pets or someone with long hair in your house, it can feel like you are constantly getting hair stuck to your feet when you walk on your carpet and hair is constantly clogging up your vacuum cleaner.

Luckily, there is another easy way to remove hair from your carpet. All you need is a window squeegee and handle. Take your window squeegee and attach the long handle to it. You can do this with a short handled window squeegee as well; you'll just have to get down on your hands and knees to use it.

Take the squeegee and start in one corner of your room. Push it down into the carpet and pull it across in a straight line. As you pull, the squeegee will pick up all the hair on your carpet. You can pick it up after you go all the way across your carpet, or you can turn around and run it across another section of your carpet, creating a big ball of hair as you go.

Run your squeegee over your entire carpet. At the end of it, you should have a nice ball of hair to throw away.

Then, vacuum your carpet and enjoy not having to cut hair out of the brush of your vacuum.

#2 How To Make Your Carpet Smell Better

Does your carpet seem to smell bad? Does it just not seem as fresh as it could be? If you answered yes to the two questions above, you need to freshen up your carpet and remove any lingering odors that might be present.

The first thing you need to do is take a container of baking soda, and sprinkle it all around your carpet. Take a broom, and lightly brush the baking soda down into the layers of your carpet. This will help remove any deep-set smells.

Second, sprinkle another layer of baking soda on the surface of your carpet. Do not be afraid to coat your carpet. You need to put down a thick layer of baking soda to really remove bad odors from your carpet.

Let the baking soda sit overnight or for a day or two if the smell from your carpet is particularly strong. After you have let the baking soda sit, use a broom to sweep up and remove the baking soda that was on the surface of your carpet. Then, use a vacuum cleaner to pick up the rest of the baking soda. This should make your carpet smell great.

Get all of the hair out of your carpet and make your carpet smell fresh and clean this spring using the advice above. If you need help, contact professional carpet cleaners.
